Meet Luna & Stormy: The Ultimate Golden Package!
Are you looking to double your love, double your giggles, and welcome the ultimate duo into your heart? Meet Luna and Stormy, a bonded pair of beautiful 4-year-old Golden Retriever sisters who are looking for a patient, loving home to help them start their next adventure!
These gorgeous, goofy girls are incredibly sweet. They are looking for an understanding adopter who will guide them with patience and love as they blossom into the confident, social butterflies we know they can be.
Get to Know the Sisters:
Stormy (106 lbs): Stormy is the laid-back girl of the duo. She’s a gentle giant who takes life at her own easy pace. She has a touch of mild arthritis in her front knee, but a daily supplement keeps her moving comfortably! Stormy also rocks a very deep bark when she has something to say, though she’s generally a quiet girl. She loves balls!
Luna (90 lbs): Luna is a sweet soul who looks to her sister Stormy for reassurance at times. She is a bit more engaged and playful, especially with kids! She loves to carry her stuffies around in her mouth (sometimes more than one!). In her prior home, she liked to counter-surf. While in foster care, she has only put her paws on the counter once. She is easily corrected with an off command.
Our Ideal Forever Home Checklist:
A Physical Fence: A physical fence is a must! Luna seems to have a natural prey drive for small furry critters. Because of this, they also need a home with no cats.
Kid-Friendly (6+): Gets along with children! They’ve done wonderfully around young children. However, because they are big, strong girls, we are requesting a home with children age 6 and up, with supervision for any younger visiting kids.
Dogs: Lived with 3 dogs before foster home.
A House (No Apartments/Condos): Would do best in a house with a yard. They aren’t big barkers, but Stormy does have a deep bark.
Car Safety Partners: Car rides are very new and a bit scary for them right now. Both girls are considered a flight risk in vehicles and try to get out immediately. Their future family will need to use crates or tie-downs to keep them safe and secure while they get used to riding in a vehicle. This will get better as time goes by, and with positive reassurance that they will be ok.
The Golden Extras:
House & Crate Trained: Absolute champions in their crates! They happily go to bed around 8:30 PM and sleep soundly until 6:00 AM or after. Luna even loves her crate so much she’ll tuck herself in for naps during the day. No potty accidents.
Grooming Superstars: Just had a full spa day at North Star Grooming by Andrea, and she gave them an A+! They did beautifully with their baths, nail trims, and paw pad touch-ups.
Brave in Storms: Loud thunder and lightning? Doesn’t faze them one bit!
Leash & Class Learners: They weren’t walked on leashes before coming to our foster home, but are already doing great! Because of their size, they currently need two people to walk them. They can still get a little startled by loud trucks driving by. We would absolutely love a family who will take them to obedience training classes to build their confidence.
Both girls are currently on track to shed a few pounds, and we think their playfulness will really shine once they get a bit trimmer!
