Adoption Update

We are happy to report that Doug has been adopted!  He spent a few weeks in foster care with his 1st time foster mom as she assessed his needs in his forever home.

Foster mom found a wonderful couple with a resident dog in need of a buddy and she felt Doug’s laid back and very happy personality  might just fill that need.

Cash, the resident dog is blind and very playful.   Some dogs have a difficult time understanding him because of his blindness.     We wanted to see if Doug could handle the playfulness and not find the blindness off putting, so he moved into the Foster To Forever Home Program with his new family..    It took almost no time for Doug to make himself at home and become best buds with Cash.

His adoptive family reports that he is super chill, initiates play with Cash (even if just for a minute) and walks away when he  is done playing.  He doesn’t let Cash’s persistence  phase him .  He has also lost a few pounds in the weeks he has been with them.   They said he is doing wonderfully and can’t imagine their home without him.

Congratulations Doug!   We are so happy for you!
