Jack 26-044
Adoption Update
Jack is a very sweet almost 5 yo golden retriever that was lovingly surrendered when his family decided their home was not the best fit for him after the adoption of a child into their home. GRRoIOWA appreciates that his surrendering family has entrusted us to find him a wonderful forever home.
Jack does have Masticatory Muscle Myositis which is treated with prednisone for 2 days when the signs are seen. His episodes have lessened over time due to this family understanding and watching for signs and then providing him the medicine he needs, when he needs it.
He does great with kids, dogs and after a brief acclimation period to cats, he did well with the cats in his foster home.
Jack has one very funny quirk…he will avoid storm drains at all costs when walking. We will never know what caused this, but it is easy enough to avoid now that we know.
Jack was adopted by a wonderful family back in Iowa. He now has a mom, dad, 2 children to love on him and a very shy and skittish former breeder dog that he can be a great role model for. It is reported that the resident dog is already starting to come out of her shell a bit and we can’t wait to hear how she flourishes with her big, goofy new canine brother showing her how to be a companion dog.
We are thankful for the surrendering owners that entrusted us to find him the perfect adoptive family and his new forever family for loving him and giving him all that he needs.
Have a wonderful life Jack!
