Adoption Update

Mesa arrived in her Foster to Forever home a few weeks ago.   She found a loving family and she adjusted beautifully.  She is about 1.5 years old and is still a basically a puppy with all the energy they come withMesa plays hard and then rests hard.

Mesa only wants to please, is very smart and a quick learner.  She mastered “lay down” and “shake” in all of 15 minutes.

Over the weeks many things like jumping and pulling on walks have improved.   She has shown anxiety/reactivity to other dogs initially and that has improved, but there is still work to be done on this front.  Her family will be working with a positive only trainer to keep her progressing to the point she no longer fears other dogs she encounters.   She loves long walks so this is a necessary skill for her.  Her new family had this to say about her reactivity “she’s a sweetheart but she’s gotta learn how to get along in a world with other dogs around so we’ll do whatever it takes to help this little girl thrive”.

She is definitely in the second “3” stage-very mischievous, but very loving.  Even after pulling an 8# pork roast off the counter the foster to forever home willingly signed the paperwork:)

We are happy to announce that Mesa has been adopted.  She even has a new name, Sadie.  We are so excited for Sadie and very thankful to her new family and their commitment to her.  Congratulations to Sadie and the T family!
