Foster Pup Update!

Remember Rosie, our 6-year-old Golden Retriever who came from a commercial breeding facility? Well, this girl is GLOWING UP.

When she first arrived, she didn’t know her name, had never had a treat, and thought stairs were some kind of cruel human joke. Now? She zooms up all the stairs like a champ, knows her name, and sits politely for snacks like she’s been doing it forever.

Rosie is:
*Sweet & Loyal – She’ll flop at your feet and happily hang out as your golden shadow.
*Smart & Trainable – Picks things up quickly (she just hadn’t had the chance to learn before).
*Playful – Loves toys and makes a fabulous playmate for another confident dog.
*Adventurous – Walks are her jam! She’s still a little “wavy” on the leash (straight lines are overrated, right?), but she’s learning fast.
*Big & Beautiful – Those giant paws match her giant heart.

At night, Rosie sleeps soundly in her crate, and when we leave, she hangs out there too—safe and cozy. She really has the heart of a puppy wrapped in the body of a gentle Golden lady.

Rosie still needs a family with patience, structure, and another dog to show her the ropes. She’s loyal, goofy, and oh-so-ready for her happily ever after. 💛

Meet Rosie!
Rosie is a 6-year-old Golden Retriever who spent her first years in a commercial breeding facility.    Now in foster care, she’s discovering the simple joys of family life—sniffing around the yard, watching birds, exploring on walks, and playing a little with the resident dogs. She’s a gentle, low-key girl who enjoys daily exercise but is just as happy lounging near her people.

Because of her background, Rosie will need a family that can give her patience, structure, and safety as she continues to learn. She is making great progress—learning her name, adjusting to a kennel, and responding well to positive reinforcement.

Rosie’s requirements:

*Fence: A secure 6-foot fence is a must. Rosie is a flight risk and needs a safe space.

*Dogs: Rosie thrives with another confident, well-adjusted dog to show her the ropes.

*Kids: Friendly with children, but her new home should have kids 8+ who can reliably follow safety rules (especially doors).

*Cats: Not a match—Rosie has a strong prey drive.

Rosie is looking for a patient, understanding home where she can continue to blossom into the loyal, gentle companion she was meant to be.
