Teddy Update!
Teddy is currently in foster care in the Des Moines metro area. He is settling in and getting more comfortable in his foster home.
From his foster:
*He’s such a sweet boy and super silly. He loves to run in the yard, flips his toys around, and hops on them. It’s super cute!
*We are working on his resource guarding. Clint at Knox Canine Training had some really great ideas, and Teddy has already made good progress with him! He’s a smart boy, so I think working more on his guarding should be pretty easy!
*Next up is nose touch and the word “here”, to work on recall.

Meet Teddy!
Teddy is a 3-year-old English Cream Retriever weighing about 65lbs.
Teddy:
🦴 Is a silly, happy boy, who loves playing fetch and tug of war and rolling on the floor with his toys. He loves running outside in the yard and exploring, no matter the weather. He’s fast!
🦴 Has good manners – he’s house trained and crate trained. He adapts to your routine quickly – he knows when it’s time to leave for work and goes right in his kennel without a command.
🦴 Is very well trained and knows many commands – sit, down, leave it, and waits for the “free” command before eating or getting treats/bones.
Teddy needs:
🦴 An only dog home, as he’s food possessive and exhibits resource guarding with toys and bones.
🦴A family that understands his possessiveness and takes it seriously, not only
today but down the road.
🦴A fenced yard. He’s fast and could be a runner until he’s settled.
🦴 A home with older and more dog-savvy kids (that can recognize when he needs space).
🦴No cats
Teddy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find his perfect family!
